Content Warning Information
I understand that some readers may become upset by certain topics in their works. This section is dedicated to explaining in a bit more detail what each topic means (in a spoiler-free way).
Animal/Child Death: Multiple animals and children die, it’s a horror novel.
Self-Harm Scars: One of the MCs canonically has self-harm scars that are very briefly mentioned.
Suicide: There is a suicide in this novel along with a hallucination of one.
Slight Homophobia: The two LGBTQ+ characters are discriminated against in the novel. This is set in rural Texas where homophobia is common. While no slurs are used and it’s only backhanded comments, please be aware.
Brief Mentions of Alcoholism: One of the MCs has an alcoholic father which is mentioned briefly throughout the book.
Implied Abuse: There is a scene that implies one of the MCs is physically abused.
Foul Language: Foul language is used, if you’ve been to a high school, you already know. Words like shit, hell, bitch, and fuck (very sparsely) are used throughout. (Let’s be fair, if you saw a giant monster you’d say fuck too).
